Do not take Hevert Dorm in the following cases:
Allergy to diphenhydramine or other antihistamines
Acute asthma, chronic lung conditions with risk of mucus retention
Narrow-angle glaucoma (green star)
Pheochromocytoma
Prostate enlargement with urinary retention
Epilepsy
Electrolyte imbalances: hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia
Bradycardia, congenital long QT syndrome, or heart disease
Use of QT-prolonging medications (e.g., antiarrhythmics, certain antibiotics, antimalarials, neuroleptics)
Use of MAO inhibitors, alcohol, or sedatives
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Children and adolescents under 18 years: only with strict medical indication due to lack of data
Caution is also required in cases of liver impairment, pyloric stenosis, or achalasia of the esophagus.
Very common or common side effects:
Drowsiness, dizziness, reduced alertness (especially the next day after too little sleep)
Headache, muscle weakness
Dry mouth, constipation, heartburn, visual disturbances, urinary retention

Gastrointestinal complaints
QT interval prolongation (heart rhythm disturbances)
Hypersensitivity reactions
Increased skin sensitivity to light
Changes in blood count, jaundice

Overdose risks (especially in children): confusion, seizures, respiratory depression, cardiac arrhythmias, fever, muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis)
Risk of dependence:
Physical and psychological dependence possible – especially with prolonged use or higher doses
Indication:
For the short-term treatment of sleep disorders, including:
Difficulty falling asleep (insomnia)
Difficulty staying asleep
Dosage:
Unless otherwise prescribed:
Adults: 2 tablets taken whole, with plenty of water, 30 minutes before bedtime
→ Do not exceed this dose!
Important Notes:
Ensure at least 7–8 hours of sleep after intake
Adjust dose in elderly, weakened patients, or those with liver or kidney impairment
Duration of use: only for a few days, not to exceed 2 weeks
